LJ Interests meme results

  1. boston bruins:
I’ve been a fan of Boston sports teams since I was a little kid, watching Cheers, deciding I would one day live in Boston. Sad but true.
  2. dreaming in red:
Reference to Pearl Jam song “Better Man” (or, as they have it on their live CDs, “Betterman.”)
  3. horse racing:
The first sport I ever loved.
  4. lermontov:
Russian poet and writer of the first half of the 19th century. I actually don’t like him that much anymore, I need to update my interests.
  5. new england patriots:
    See #1 above.
  6. poetry:
I like poetry and prose and music and all those squishy gooey humanities things. I love words and language, I’m more about verbal arts than visual.
  7. rupert brooke:
English poet, incredibly talented but career cut short. Said in 1914, “If Armageddon is on, one really ought to show up for it” (and then he enlisted, got blood poisoning, and died in Greece).
  8. soy milk:
I actually don’t drink it much anymore… real milk is cheaper.
  9. tofu:
Odd the similarity of the things that came up. I do still eat a lotta tofu.
  10. zhukovsky:
Another 19th century Russian poet, writer, translator, historian, tutor, socialite… I took my Russian class name, Svetlana, from one of his stories.

I’m still alive

Published by Nicole under Uncategorized

Just a little under the weather lately. And working a lot.

Funny thing about memories, it’s hard to relive them without making new ones to overwrite the ones you really want to keep.

Can’t decide whether or not to buy hockey tix this season.

I think this is the first September 11 where the date doesn’t sting. I mean, there are advertisements for all kinds of things, from TV show premieres to concerts to store sales, all saying the date as if it were any other. Life goes on.

It’s been 5 months since I wrote that email.

My mom bought me the new Hootie & the Blowfish CD. Disappointing.

Penguins!

Published by Nicole under Uncategorized

My brother came to visit, we had some Mongolian bbq and then went to see March of the Penguins! I see now what all the fuss was about… it’s awesome!
