Rather than stuffing your inboxes, here’s a little fw you can ignore if you like.

Are you normal? Don’t cheat!

I heart NY

Published by Nicole under Uncategorized

Both the city and upstate. They are beautiful and confounding and expensive and fun. I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be at this point in my life.

New Jersey, on the other hand…

New car smell

Published by Nicole under Uncategorized

It’s gone. I was just thinking how things have to smell new and exciting to hold my attention, and how that is probably a character flaw. But flaws make things interesting, unless you’re a diamond.

I don’t want to go back to school. I wish I had some excuse like my father not to go back. But he just won’t kick the bucket or get markedly worse, confound him.

I don’t want to go back to Midland either. I’m thinking of maybe sleeping on park benches near the beach. With the built-in economy, she sells sea shells by the sea shore. There you go.

Earlier today I was explaining how I still have a farmer tan from a bad sunburn I got on Mackinac Island 3 years ago. No wonder if I’m not comfortable in my own skin, it’s lousy ghastly pale hypersensitive skin.

I’m watching a VCR tape from several years ago… betwixt the “Whose Line” episodes are musical performances and other little clips… it seems I used to tape record anyone who even reminded me of what’s-his-name–Peter Krause, Eric Stolz, some contestant on Jeopardy, even Craig Kilborn. I guess I’m just a stalker by nature. He had just gone to NY and I was tripping.

Oh, and then there’s the bizarre guest appearance of a teenage Adam Sandler as Theo’s friend on the Cosby show. And Gideon’s Crossing, good show. And DB Sweeney on Once and Again. Ahhh DB Sweeney….

But in all this, there is one true thing: ‘Do not say: “Why has it happened that the former days proved to be better than these?” for it is not due to wisdom that you have asked about this.’ –Eccl. 7:10

I’ll be coming home next year

New motto coined tonight: Full of content and fully content!

These past few days have been long, and the daylight hours wasted with toil. Summer days, drifting away to uh oh those summer nights…

Hahaha man, weird things come out when I’m tired. But the effort is to make them significant weird things! I was making fun of both Toni Morrison and M. Night Shyamalan earlier today, only to realize that I really can’t talk until I’ve written better, if I ever do.

So I’ve been deleting old entries consisting only of quizzes or surveys or lyrics… I have this need to claim authorship for SOMETHING, even if it is only a blog.

I was at the Grad library and the Law Quad at midnight last night… with the wind blowing and not all the lights on, it was somehow rather spooky, like the setting of a Sherlock Holmes tale. I guess that’s the appeal of Ann Arbor, that it almost seems to shapeshift sometimes to remind you of somewhere else. There are times I swear it’s just a bigger version of Midland. Midland on steroids and behavior mods.

PS: Have you ever heard of the Rockabilly Goth movement that swept the 50s? It was sexy.

As if the Bruins’ roster changes weren’t damaging enough to my psyche, look what the Sox did to me.

Nomar… Why Nomar?

And the Yankees getting ARod… what is the point anymore?

Bring on the strikes and lockouts. I’m starting not to care. I’ll just start watching soccer or rugby or curling or something.
